Short and plain: you may use the app as intended, it is free, and you stay responsible for what you file with the tax office.

What this covers

These terms apply to the iPhone app Rittenregistratie, published by Socialista (Marvin Visser), Amsterdam, Chamber of Commerce number 61396478. By using the app you agree to them. Apple's App Store terms apply alongside these.

What you may do with the app

You get the right to use the app on the devices tied to your Apple Account, for your own use, business or private. You may not copy, resell, decompile or strip features out of the app to build them elsewhere.

Free, with ads

The app is free and stays that way: unlimited trips, every country, every report and every feature, without paying. There is one ad banner in the trip log. That banner is the only thing you can buy away.

Turning ads off

There are three ways: a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a single payment that lasts forever. All three do exactly the same thing, which is remove the ad. The price is shown in the app under "Turn ads off" before you buy.

A subscription is charged to your Apple Account once you confirm the purchase, and renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of that period. You cancel and manage renewal in your Apple Account settings, not in the app: we cannot stop a subscription for you. The one-time purchase does not renew and never costs anything again.

Your purchase belongs to your Apple Account and can be restored on a new device with "Restore" on the same screen. Payments, refunds and restores run through Apple; we cannot refund directly. For a refund, go to Apple.

You stay responsible for your own filing

This is the part that matters. The app helps you measure and record, but the log you file stays yours. Check your trips before you use a report, especially the category, the addresses and the odometer readings.

GPS is not perfect. In a tunnel, a car park or with poor reception kilometres can go missing, and a trip that starts from motion misses the first stretch by definition. The app shows filled-in kilometres separately precisely so you can judge that. The tax explanations in the app and on this site are general information and not tax advice.

Availability

The app runs on your own device and does not need us to work. We do not promise new versions, that every feature stays, or that the app works on every future iOS. Features that still need Apple's approval, such as CarPlay, may be absent.

Liability

The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for damage arising from its use, including missed kilometres, a rejected deduction, an additional assessment or lost data. Whatever is written here, your statutory rights as a consumer remain.

Your own data

Your trips are on your device. We hold no copy, so we cannot restore them if you lose them. Make a report regularly: that is your backup. See the privacy policy for the rest.

Changes and governing law

We may change these terms; the newest version is always here, with the date on top. Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the competent court in Amsterdam, unless the law points to a different court.
